Louis was born in South London on Christmas day. He started acting professionally at the tender age of 8, his first major role was in Edgar Lostgarden’s Face of a Stranger on television. This was followed up with other small roles in television and then his major break came at the age of 12 with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a famous season with Dame Diana Rigg, Ian Holm, Malcolm Mcdowell, Sir Trevor Nunn and John Barton. Asked back for the following season Louis was given the option of playing Macduff’s son in Macbeth or King Louis XIV in the new BBC series The Further Adventures of the Three Musketeers. He chose the latter and this was closely followed by many TV productions, such as The Growing Summer for London Weekend Television written by Eric Thompson (father of the famous Emma Thompson), which won the Golden Rose at Montreaux and the lead in Channel 4’s award winning show Caught Looking. Other award winning productions include Central Television’s Takeover, plus a guest appearance in Not in Front of the Children (the famous sitcom). Louis has been in many of the BBC’s and ITV’s feature productions, such as The Strauss Family as Joseph Strauss, playing the husband of Jane Seymour’s character, The Borgias playing Jofre Borgia, Coronation Street as Bet Lynch’s son Martin Downes. Louis then went on to star in other productions such as Z Cars, Jackanory, Points of View, the film of Are You Being Served - In all, 150 TV and film productions.

To rave reviews Louis starred in the West End musical Let the Good Stones Roll playing Mick Jagger. Louis was also known for award winning film QB7 starring alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins. Louis was also an actor at the Royal National Theatre, appearing in productions directed by John Dexter, Christopher Morahan and Peter Hall in productions of As you Like it, The Wild Duck, Richard III, the original production of Amadeus and also platform performances. He also appeared in the West End production of Gone with the Wind. Louis was also known for playing Hamlet and toured Austria playing Robin Hood.

Louis is soon looking to start production on a film project entitled Sinner Saint scheduled for pre-production in 2010. Louis is supporting many new writers and young actors in their chosen career, including being producer of the successful theatre company Black Ram. He is also in the process of finishing his book The Drama Code and is putting together plans to oversee a new internet television company.
